There is a lot of stress incurred in the booms, just
aft of the gear doors on a normal landing, and I had about 2 dozen that
were pretty hard on the touchdowns. |
The original intent was to just throw away the booms
and replace them with glass ones from Ziroli, but after they sat in my
shed for about a year, I ca-ed them back together. |
The breaks were pretty clean, but there was some
material lost, no matter, once they were in one piece again, I then broke
out the carbon, and trowel it on in there. |
I do not anticipate any more problems in this area
again, as long as I put the plane down on the wheels and don't do any
carrier type slams. |
